Born in Malatya in 1959, he graduated from Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School. In 1976, he entered the Mathematics Department at Hacettepe University, but after studying for one year, he re-took the exam and was accepted into Eskişehir Faculty of Medicine. He continued his education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1984. Through a compulsory service draw, he began serving as Chief Physician at the Tunceli Trachoma Dispensary. He served as the Tunceli Health Director and the Tunceli Provincial Director of Social Services for approximately one year. In 1987, he was appointed to the Ankara Maternal and Child Health and Family Planning Center, and in 1989, he began his assistantship at the Department of Child Health and Diseases at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine. In 1994, he completed his specialization and was assigned to Mersin Maternal and Child Health and Family Planning. He continued his private practice practice from 1998 to 2019. He currently serves as a Child Health and Diseases Specialist at Mersin System Surgical Medical Center.
