He was born in 1962 and completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Mersin. Between 1979 and 1985, he studied at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. From 1986 to 1988, he fulfilled his compulsory service in Suruç, Şanlıurfa. Between 1988 and 1992, he completed his specialization training in Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital.

In 1992, he began working as a Biochemistry Specialist at Mersin State Hospital. For 15 years, he also managed his own laboratory, Gönen Private Health Services Laboratory, on a part-time basis. Between 2008 and 2010, he worked as a Laboratory Physician at the Private Mersin Sistem Surgical Medical Center. After completing 31 years of public service in 2017, he retired and joined the Private Mersin Sistem Surgical Medical Center as a Biochemistry Specialist.
