He was born on January 3, 1948, in Mersin. He graduated from Mersin İleri Primary School in 1959, Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School in 1965, and Istanbul University (Çapa) Faculty of Medicine in 1971, where he also completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology. In 1980, he began working in Mersin as a Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology and as a Sports Physician. In 1987, he served as the General Secretary of the 10th National Orthopedics and Traumatology Congress held in Mersin. In 1981, he took part in the founding of the Association for the Physically Disabled in Mersin. Between 1997 and 1999, he lectured on "Sports Health" at Mersin University, Department of Physical Education and Sports for three years. At various times, he served as an instructor in football and volleyball coaching courses and worked as a team doctor and manager for Mersin İdman Yurdu, Çukurova Sports Basketball, and Türkmen High School Sports Clubs.

Between 1998 and 2002, he served as a member of the Turkish Football Federation Health Committee. He continues to be a member of and hold various positions in scientific associations related to Orthopedics and Traumatology. He is married and has three children. In 2010, he began working as a Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Private Mersin Sistem Surgical Medical Center.
